NWCC female member Jade Paveley wins welsh tarmac championship

Titles are normally won at the end of the season that is unless your name is Jade Paveley!

Rally Driver Jade Paveley has secured the 2018 Junior Welsh Tarmac Rally Championship title with just over half the season completed. Jade’s focus is now on adding to the category titles by fighting for the C7 class title, and securing a top five overall position in the 2018 Championship.

“I did not expect to be leading two categories and being 3rd overall in the outright Championship at this point in the season. We have worked out that mathematically no one can catch me in the junior title race, which is really great news. The pressure is now really on to win the C7 title as well. This is going to be really hard, but I will give it everything I have, as this is the big category for all the four wheel drive turbo cars. I am speechless that I am leading the category at this point in the season and to be 3rd overall outright is beyond my wildest dreams. There is no other way I can describe it”.

Jade’s next rally will be at the Epynt ranges in July. The team is using the break in the schedule to give the Subaru Rally car a full inspection and service, before a private test session to keep Jade sharp before the next rally.

“I need to keep physically sharp in this gap and focused. I achieve this by karting and the odd brisk walk up Snowdon, running and lifting light weights. I will be really attacking the second half of the season with the junior title in the bag!”

Jade is a guest speaker at the forthcoming Women in Sport North Wales Conference at Surf Snowdonia, which follows a recent appearance as guest speaker at the Women In Business North Wales annual conference.
