NWCC & CAMBRIAN RALLY BOOSTS SCHOOL FUNDS

A RURAL primary school has received a funding boost after volunteers from its Parents and Teachers Association gave up a Saturday to run car parks at a major motor rally. They looked after two busy car parks near Ysgol Cerrigydrudion during the Cambrian Rally organised by North Wales Car Club last October, and as a thank you from the car club they have received a cheque for a share of the takings totalling £4,732.

Three Castles Trial 2025

As ever unmissable, the 2025 Three Castles Trial from 3rd - 6th June will again be based in the attractive seaside town of Llandudno. Competitors will enjoy three days of competitive rallying in a special, relaxed format. Their cars covered up to 500 miles on smooth surfaces, visiting many of the most attractive locations in North Wales and travelling over scenic rally roads.

BTRDA 2025 Calendar

Since the BTRDA Gold & Silver Star Rally Championships were first introduced in 1953, the BTRDA ‘Stars’ have become some of the most sought-after accolades in British rallying and are worn with pride by those whose efforts have deemed them worthy of the title. Joined, more recently, by the Bronze Star Championship in a no-less keenly fought series for 1400cc cars, the calendar of events is eagerly anticipated by prospective competitors.

The ultimate rally car?

The Toyota GR YARIS Rally1 is an improved and evolved model of the ultimate rally car developed in accordance with the FIA Rally1 technical regulations for 2022. Rally1 cars are new regulation vehicles that replace World Rally Cars, which were the highest level until 2021. The first generation of Rally1 cars were the first highest-level rally cars to be equipped with hybrid units. Three seasons later, in 2025, the introduction of new regulations resulted in hybrid units being removed, but 100 percent sustainable fossil-free fuel continues to be used as a technology to promote sustainable motorsports.

Autotests

Autotests are an affordable form of motorsport, with numerous events every weekend all over the country. Club memberships start from £15/year and entry fees from £20 for an evening event and £30 for a full-day event. You’ll need to be at least 16 years old to compete. You will need to join your local club and apply for your free RS Clubman Licence. Then, of course, you will need a car…
