Exciting 60th year for Cambrian Rally
Posted on July 27, 2015
AN EXCITING event with the reintroduction of some popular stages is promised for the 60th running of the Cambrian Rally in October. Organisers of last year’s BTRDA Rally of the Year are pulling out all the stops to make this special anniversary in the event’s history one to remember.
Clerk of the course, Alyn Edwards commented: “We wanted to make this year’s Cambrian extra special, and I think with the route we have devised and some additional attractions which we’ll announce later we’ll achieve that.”
Regulations are now available for what is the final round of the BTRDA National Rally Championship, Welsh Association National Championship, Clubmans, the Old Stager Historic, Welsh Historic, and the ANWCC Championships.
Once again the event is being enthusiastically supported by Conwy County Borough Council and Llandudno Town Council which is a measure of its perceived value to the area, and it has additional valued support from North Wales Honda and Lucas Toolhire.
It will be based in Llandudno with the four star St George’s Hotel as Rally HQ and scrutineering at the Victoria Centre in the town centre which offers viewing for members of the public. Trailer parking will be situated at Bodafon Farm, with secure parking available for competitors on the Friday night.
Entry fee is £450 which offers competitors just under 45 miles in the Gwydyr and Penmachno forests with only just over 100 road miles. Management after every stage and one central service at Glan Y Gors Kart circuit.
Vital Equipment will be offering Re fuelling facilities of both Turbo Hyperflo fuel and Super Unleaded on the event at two locations on the route.
Marshals are required and anyone willing to marshal on the event should contact Keith Pulling on 07771 923247 or k.pulling@btinternet.com
The organisers are also appealing for anyone with any interesting memorabilia of the last 60 years to contact event secretary Dave Thomas.
Further details of the event, and how to enter are available on the website cambrianrally.co.uk
